What Are Balers Twine and Wrap?

A balers twine, also known as baling twine, is a small-diameter synthetic or sisal twine that’s used to bind a large number of fibrous materials, notably straw or hay. They use these products to tie batches of fibres into compact forms that are easily stacked and either stored or transported. While they may look thin and weak, balers twine is one of the most durable ropes out there. Its strength is its main selling point as it can be used for numerous applications and purposes.

Properties

While the balers twine is different from a bale wrap, they both have similar qualities and properties. Sisal fibres are made of the following ingredients:

  • 65% Cellulose
  • 12% Hemicellulose
  • 10% Lignin
  • 2% Waxes

Balers wrap & twine can be available as twill, herringbone, or plaid. The fibres used to make the twine and film offer excellent sound and impact absorbing properties. They also have natural static-resistant properties that prevent dust from getting trapped and absorbs moisture quickly. Bale wrap and twine initially have a dull, neutral colour which allows them to be dyed into different colours. Furthermore, all of these products are a hundred per cent biodegradable. A variant of these products is called polypropylene twine and film, which is made from 100 per cent polypropylene. It’s known for its lightweight, strength, and low density. It’s also less expensive than the traditional sisal version.

Applications

Baling twine and cover is commonly used in the farming industry. They are primarily for binding hay or straw bales together in different shapes; small or large square and small or large round shapes. Due to its incredible strength and durability, a baling twine can also be used for other rope-related applications. The same goes for the bale wrap.
